Preview displays only background colour

hallo everyone,

new to forum so please overlook transgressions (but let me know ehat they are).

am absolute beginner and i chose bluevoda as i thought the tutorials would help. they do. i have read everything and look at the tut.. then go and 'do'. spent two days working on my first page then hit the preview button and only the background colour i chose shows up - no text, no image, nothing.the status bar on the bottom of firefox says done.

any ideas where i went wrong?
