  • Index page help

    I was surfing the forum to find the answer how to chage the index page and could find anything wright.
    Is it possible to post an thread like index page for dummies? Everything from scratch. A lot of users, including me, dont get why and how to solve the problem. When I published my website, instead of seeing the home page of my site, I get an index page with lots of other pages on it. In the forum all the answer I see is go to BV and publish like an index page - how to do this? Please help and post some answers on this just like for dummies like me. How can I type my www.webiste.com and show my Home page that I want to see.
    Thank you very much and I apreciate your FULL response on this.

      Re: Index page help

      ...I can only say that when I first started creating my website I knew NOTHING whatsoever about anything!! It was worse than trying to learn a new language lol
      BUT.....I took the advice of just about everyone here - which I now pass on to you - watch the tutorials or read where necessary.....take your time.....go through them again!
      I did....and it pays off, believe me - you will learn so much..........and avoid so much frustration in waiting for answers to questions you can find for yourself!!

        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
        The full address is as Graham showed above.
        But the index page is your home page or yourdomain.com.
        Once published all you need to do is to enter:
        "www.mywebsite.com" and your browser will take you to your "index" page.
          Re: Index page help
          There is a world of difference between " Index and index. "
          Always use lowercase when saving page names (ie index)
          Here's a primer that may be of use.
            Re: Index page help
            first you save you main page as
            index
            not Index or
            not index.html
            when doing your links the only page that does not need an extension, html or php is your index page.
