    BV and IE display issues

    Hello guys.

I have recently bought a new laptop and i transferred all my bv files from the old one to the new one. When i tried to work on one of these files on my new laptop, all the fonts (their size) had changed and looked larger. So i had to reduce the font size in order to bring them in their normal position on the page. But when i previewed the page on internet explorer, the fonts looked too small and not in the right position as they did in BV!!
I guess this has to do with the display resolutions of the laptop, as my old one was 13" and the new one 15.6". But why i have these issues now on my new one? If what i see in BV is not what i actually get, it means that i will not be able to work with BV anymore!!!

    Any suggestions for this?

    Thank you

Re: BV and IE display issues

Have you tested your files in a different browser? Have you checked your IE settings on your new laptop? Different computers and different browsers display things slightly differently - so you can imagine that the many different browser/computer variants are going to all mess with your html output in some way.

OK guys things are getting serious here.
jspca7857 thank you for your reply. I tested the website with different browsers and the problem is the same everywhere.

Even when i write a simple text, without images and this kind of stuff, but with just two different text editing boxes, in BV everything looks perfect but in browsers a huge gap appears between the two text boxes!!!

I really cant work like that. Everything looks like a mess.

Maybe BV has some settings that i have to change?

This is very urgent so please help me with that!

      Thank you

Re: BV and IE display issues

Make sure your computer is set to display the character size as medium.

If set to small or large, it will display the page in a rather strange way.

Also test this: create two shapes, publish (or preview) and check if the distance among them is ok. If it is ok, almost certainly it is the Font size settings on your computer and / or browser.

Re: BV and IE display issues

I checked the font size and it is set to medium :(. I haven't tried publishing two objects yet, but as i remember, when i published a page which included text, photos and other objects, everything looked fine except the fonts/text!!

So i suppose the problem is with the fonts...

          Challenging ha? :D

Re: BV and IE display issues

I'm using only web friendly fonts (eg. Arial).

I uploaded a page with just two shapes in it and the shapes looked fine. Nothing changed. But when i tried to publish them with some text on them (two different text boxes), the one "set" of text looked ok but the other one was not in the way i had it in BV.

I checked some old posts here in BV but unfortunately i didnt find something similar to this...

Any suggestions please? Because i really have to update my website as soon as possible!

When you say "uploaded pages" you are "publishing"?
How about a link or a screenshot?
                BV11.4G ?
                Windows 7 ?

                  Yes i mean publishing.
                  I use BV11.4G, windows 7, Dell Studio XPS 16.
Unfortunately i am at the office right now and i cant take any screenshots. I will have to publish the page again, because i don't have it online right now

If it remains problematic you can also send me (use the text link) the BV page and I'll look to see what the issue is. I can also publish it to view.

Upload the .bvp file on your server and provide the link so Terry can download and look at it.
