Please could someone explain how I must go about obtaining and using an SSL certification (via bv).
I would like to use this so that i can receive a form from customers with their credit card details to process manually in my store (in the case that PayPal does not accept a popular credit card in my country)
I need to be able to receive the information in stict confidence, without any possibility of information being intercepted.
i'm just not sure how the secure pages work, when does http become https etc, and the whole general procedure.
Any details would be helpful and appreciated.

yes, i was intending on purchasing the certificate there, but i would like some more information before i do so.

can i create a regular form and get a private email?
will the info be secure on my database?
can i use my own custom shopping cart alongside a secure page?
is there any more general information about ssl etc?
will it necessitate extensive changes on my existing site?
