I'm afraid this is not due to BV.
Since some time browsers ignore the "alt" property and only display the "title" property, for which till now there is no field in the BV Image properties.
I believe it will be added in a next update.
To get the alt text to display for now, you need to add this in the Inside Tag of the image HTML:

Thank you!!! I got it! You have to right click on the image, click on HTML, and then click on the tab that says Inside Tag. Then type in the word "title=" plus what you want the title to be inside the quotes.
title="whatever you want to say"
