    FTP question

    Hello,
I have a web site called FXsystems.info. Via Bv FTP I transferred a page into a folder I created in FTP which I called download - The page is called PipGrip.rar.

I have created the link called

Is this correct? - if so - should it open in the preview facility?

I must be making an error somewhere as i can not get it to open in preview - it gives me a 404
    Thank you
    Hans

    Re: FTP question

it seems that the directory /download/ does not exist...you need to create this folder.

      Thank you for the reply.
I have looked again, the /download/ folder is definitely on the right hand side - the connected side of the FTP facility, when opened the /PipGrip.rar file is there...
Can you assist further please - just one question, must I publish the page which has the download link - or can I test it in preview?
      Thank you

        when i go to

I get nothing, this means no directory exists, a directory is a folder not a page, try upload the rar file to your main public_html folder.

          Re: FTP question

Thank you for your continued help - I'm sure my ignorance is showing - however, here is what I am trying to do.
I have a pic of a box which is FTP'd into the site via blue voda ftp. Its there I can see it. When brough into a page it will open a page I link it to, so the box works as a "Click here"
I want to use the box to click on and it must provide the client with the download .rar file. I have FTP'd the download into the site, its there I can see it on the right side.
The site is http://www.fxsystems.info - so what will be the link from the box to allow my client to receive the download .rar file, which is called PipGrip.rar (exactly like that) - I tried to link the box which I brought onto my page via the picture facility, to http://www.fxsystems.info/PipGrip.rar but it is not available. (404)
I am trying to see if this works via the preview - is this possible or must I publish the page with the box ?

            Re: FTP question

Thank you again for your assistance - here is how I solved my problem.
I coded it in bits and pieces taken from a few of my previous pages viz:-

            <a href="http://www.mysite.info/download/file.rar"><img src="images/boxname.jpg" id="Image1" alt="" align="top" border="0" style="width:138px;height:180px;">

            Works like a dream now

            Thank you again.
