Changing menu bar

Now I know that you must get irritated at people constantly asking about things changing on their web sites. But - The menu bar on my site, which contains about 12 menu items, often changes the menu around. For eg, Home is at the top but I'll find that Home is suddenly half way down and is substituted for another menu item. But clicking on the alternative item still takes you to Home.
Now I do use a basic template which includes the Menu bar and I do use Copy and Paste for all items. I have viewed the tutorials and I have trawled the forum pages. But to no avail.

Can I ask for a moment of your time to explain why this is happening ?

You have interrupted your "continuity" (assuming you pasted the Menu page-to-page and made a correction on a page mid-stream) and likely aggravated the issue by improperly Saving and Publishing pages outside methods required by BV12 (and later versions).
