    Word Files and ftp

    Hi,

I just uploaded a bunch of my word files called - public_html/BV Files - and wanted to know how I can link to them from my works webpage...if I can that is?

Would I link to the files using ftp:// and if so would I need to place the BV Files folder in the public_ ftp section of the directory?

I would like the files to open up ina pop up window if possible.
    Thanks
    Beezz

Files uploaded in this manner won't be something a user can simply click on and read. For your purposes, you're best off copying and pasting the text into BV pages and publishing those, or converting the files to pdf format.

Race is wright, PDF would be better. Just because not EVERYBODY has word, but anybody can download Adobe Reader for free. I suggest that you also include a link to download Adobe, just in case someone doesn't have it.
Anyway, format appart, you must simply create in your pages a link like: http://www.beezworld.com/folder/filename.doc or .pdf if you go for the PDF format. Can a be a text, or image, or button link. The "folder/" part will be used if you upload your files to a separate folder. If you just upload them in your "public_html directory you don't use that part. I prefer having my files in separate folders so i can keep my site organised more or less the same way as my computer.

Take the "public_html" off your link. Also make sure you have uploaded the file in that folder

Thank You navaldesign...it worked perfectly and I realized that I had saved the file as Believe.pdf and not believe.pdf and that was the other reason it was not finding it. Grazie Mille....

Ciao (just practicing my italian for whn my friends visit)
