Changing to Password protected?

I am new to making to websites and I am currently playing with an idea for the hockey industry. I have all but finsihed building and creting my website and I realzied that if I publishe it right now that it would not be password protected and that I could not start memberships and fees. Do I have to redo my whole website and can I make it into a membership only website???

I would really appreciate anyones help, Thanks in advance

No you do not have to redo your whole website....
1) create a subdirectory and password protect that dir.
2) publish your home page in your public dir.
3) provide a link from your home page to a page in your sub dir.

All these details are shown in the tutorials......

Thank you very much for your help it is great to hear that I do not have to redo the whole website. What tutorials are best to watch in order to learn how to do all of this?

You need to be clear about your objectives before publishing your site as it probable exists at the moment.....

If anyone else has already published a site which includes members signing in via passwords, could they join in with this thread ?
