    Sizing problems

I have started working on the site just a little but have noticed that every time I do anything with it the page width is changing on me and when I go to preview the site it is not all fitting on the screen. The only thing I have even done is give it a background color and put in a couple of text boxes.

I know it is probably something really simple & something I am doing but I would greatly appreciate it if someone would let me know what is going on!

    TIA,
    Lori

    Tia,

On each page as you are doing them, click in the upper left hand corner for page properties and then put in the size in the option boxes. Around 800 is good and also choose centered.

      jolodrey,

Also remember that as you are building yoursite- often you are moving images, text shapes and what not and they will extend outside the 800 mark. Therefore when you are done and everything is lined up- before you publish click onthe properties and then set it to 800. For example- if you place on image on your page and it is initially huge- once you have dragged it to fit nicely in the area that you desire- it has extended your page with when it was initially called up.

**Always check and size page just before publishing

        Re: Sizing problems

The thing is that I can make sure everything is the right size and in place, set it to 800, have it all showing on the screen, go to preview the site before publishing and when it comes up the size has changed and it no longer fits on the screen.

Maybe it won't do it when it is actually published?

        Any thoughts,
        Lori

          jolodrey,

You must have something OUTSIDE your 800 width setup..

Try changing the page width to 800 and then save it. then go back to
page properties and look at the page width again.

If it HAS changed then my first comment would be the clue.....

I know that I have only repeated some of andy´s comments, but sometimes its that simple.
          Have fun
          Regards..... David

Bill, the width of your page is really important but the length is up to you. Make it as long as you want, but if it's going to be really long, it may be wise to use some bookmarks to help people navigate.
