    Re: Error 404

    Hi Vasili,
I have looked and it seems that I have named my pages right,or so I think.
Could you give me an explanation as to how you think I have not named them correctly.
Sorry to sound so blunt. They are named as so,
    index.html
    contact.html
    register.html
    faqs.html
    people.html
    people1.html
Is this not the right way to name the pages.
Hope to hear from you soon,
    Gary.

when you gave the Navigation bar the url make sure you put the url like the following:

        www.yoursite.com/yourpage.html

or if it's in a subfolder

        www.yoursite.com/subfolder/yourpage.html

I'm sure it's just the url given the probleme

Hi Nite Producer,I have given everything inside the NAV bar like this
          www.rememberme4ever.net/index.html
          www.rememberme4ever.net/contact.html
          www.rememberme4ever.net/register.html
          www.rememberme4ever.net/faqs.html
          www.rememberme4ever.net/people.html
          www.rememberme4ever.net/people1.html

This would appear to be the right way,or do I have to give the actual
whole Navigation Bar a url aswell.
          Thanks,
          Gary.

            Re: Error 404

"Naming" (titling) your pages in BV (in Page Properties) does include the URL: MySite.com

"Saving" pages in BV is done without any extension added by you, as it is automatically saved as ".bvp"

"Linking" pages in BV, either via the hyperlink tool or in Button Properties requires extensions to be added also, i.e. to link from your index page to your Contact page you would enter: www.mysite.com/contact_us.html

"Publishing" your BV pages is quite simple, as you first Save your properly named page, then using PUBLISH, you add nothing to the Publish Dialog box....it is done automatically > enter nothing at public_html/

If these steps are solid, then it might be a DNS error. Be sure that you have correctly "pointed" you domain hosted elsewhere to your VH account, and that the account is properly configured.

If this is being published to a sub-domain, check that you have set it up properly in your CP, and the pagfes are being published to this directory when using BV: public_html/subdomainname

Looks good from here, Gary. BUT...you DO have the http:// in front of these addresses, don't you? (http://www.rememberme4ever.net/index.html)
It's easy to accidentally "erase" them when blazing through the hyper tool.
If so, double check to be sure each page is similarly named in BV, then start looking at the DNS aspect.

What do I have to look for in the DNS aspect,I just do not understand why I get two pages but none of the rest.
Anyway, thanks so much guys, and god bless you all.

OK this is good, i am learning something good here. Vasili, am I correct in saying then that names of pages have to be specific to BlueVoda requirements rather than being able to name then as 'a person' sees fit?

I use FrontPage where of course you can use any names under the sun.

                      No......

I just presented the "rules" simply, in order, so he could analyze by method.
The only "requirement for BV naming" is the Main Page be index and the common rest applies (use underscore instead of spaces, no symbols, lower case, etc.)
And like in everything else, the freaking details are a must....(it's what I get hung up myself)!

I have the http:// in front of all the addresses as i am naming them.

                          Leprechauns! That's the cause!
                          Or...trolls! The miserable creatures!

Oh, I don't know Gary...I can't see clearly enough from here. If everything is according to Hoyle as far as naming, saving, title, full links....and 2 of say 6 present, then I say someone is sitting on the Magic button here in VodaLand!

I would probably be spending hours unecessarily comparing/anyalyzing the differences between a page that works and one that doesn't, hoping to find a comma instead of a period (that one had me tied up for a whole day on 4 pages until I could SEE it!!) or a missing letter, or where I thought I had put an underscore it was missing -- something.....

                            1) rememberme4ever.net does not have its name servers configed. Please update your name servers.

                            2) Please do not ask for help again without identifying your self in your first post. We clearly asked you to do this when you started this thread.

If you would have identified yourself, we would have solved you issue a lot faster. We would have been able to do a Whois search.
