Help Pablo-Publishing problems-Urgent

1. I published index page which seemed to turn out great.

2. Then uploaded excel html file which I thought automatically went to
public_html

3. When I went back to check it was not in the public_html, and

4. Now the index file doesn't show up.

5. now when I try to re-publish the index file it tells me I can't change the
root directory.

I am really a novice on this part of it....can you help-its urgent and I 'know you are the guru'


ps the upload seemed to go great - I just need to understand how I then name the hyperlink to the 'search result' page, and

Fix'd main problems -

Uploaded excel file to folder in public_html;

What I name the link so it shows up on my search result page;
