    PHP configuration for sending email

    I am trying to configure my software to send email based on the contents of a database in mysql. The database works fine and says the e mail has been sent but in actual fact no email is sent. There is no error message. Is this the correct configuration for the vodahost servers to process the email request?

    define('SMTP_HOSTNAME', 'localhost');
    define('SMTP_PORT', 25);
    define('SMTP_USERNAME', '');
    define('SMTP_PASSWORD', '');
    define('SMTP_FROM_ADDRESS', '????@?????????????.uk');
    define('SMTP_FROM_NAME', 'Tim Vincent');

    In particular do I need a username or password to send the email?
    Thanks. Tim Vincent, cirgeo.biz

    Re: PHP configuration for sending email

    You only need username and password (which are your VH email address and your email address password) IF you want to send out through SMTP Authentication
