    PHP register_global setting

    Hi,
    Is there any way of checking the default setting for PHP register_global in my site?

    Thanks!

    Re: PHP register_global setting

    Sure. Use phpinfo();

    Create a file in Notepad with the following content:

    <?php
    phpinfo();
    ?>

    Save As -> File Type: All files -> save it as info.php
    Upload it on your site and then type its URL in your browser: http//www.yourdomain.com/info.php

    It will display all PHP settings for your account.

        Hi navaldesign,
        I set the register_globals off according to your tips in the thread below:

        for a folder with a Joomla! installation.
        Although the phpinfo() reports that the register_globals is OFF, the Joomla! insist that it is ON!!!

        Where is the truth?

          phpinfo() is a built in function of php, can't be mistaken!

          Unless you have changed the permissions for one folder, and the Joomla routine that performs the check is in another folder.

              you were right navaldesign. The Joomla! was referring to the register_globals setting for the installation directory. Thank you!
