    Which data type to use?

    I am entering values in my form for the mysql database. The info that I have to input and then transfer via php method to database is as follows;

    7-11 or 3-11 also, 12R or 12OT

    What should I choose as the data type- Text, Char, VarChar, Blob ?????

    What are the differences? I know if I am inputting a number it is Interger.

    Please end my confusion?
