install joomla into www. for linking purposes

    Hey, gang :)

I've had an install of joomla on a business add-on domain, and I'm needing to reinstall it to the http://www.domain.com as opposed to the default http://domain.com. This must be done for link building and my SEO.

How do I go about it?

    Gracias

    Daniel

Re: install joomla into www. for linking purposes

As a follow up - I've gone into the configuration.php file on server and changed the $mosConfig_live_site setting to the 'www' of my domain name, however when I load the page there are query strings showing underneath the template in main window.

I'm wondering if I really do need to do a manual install into the correct directory?

    Any thoughts appreciated

    Daniel

ok, so the manual install went well :) I've fixed the link profile to the correct path.

I've been trying to change the htaccess.txt to .htaccess, which I've noticed is automatic via fantastico - seems that I get locked out with a 403 error when changing it on the manual install. Is there a way around this?

My other issue (yeah, seems there's a few, right? lol) is the register_globals - i've changed the globals.php file as per the security post in joomla, though the second one seems to be host orientated? There seems to be a long work-around, however it seems just that - long. Is there a simple solution to this?

      Thanks
