First and foremost, it doubled download speeds in our tests. You can use the command-line interface to execute standard features, such as resuming a file transfer, scheduling downloads, connecting through dial-up, and logging on to password-protected sites. Experienced downloaders will appreciate being able to limit the number of connections and the download speeds for specific sites. Conveniently, the program integrates into your browser, even if you use Mozilla or Opera. Notable additional functionality includes automatic virus-checking and the ability to download all files linked to a page. However, the program isn’t quite a full-fledged grabber that analyzes a site and retrieves, for example, all images. Easy to use and modest, Internet Download Manager can satisfy most users in need of a trusty transfer tool.
