guestbook question

guess i've been away too long - trying to install guestbook on jewelry site I get as far as "change permission to 777" i get to the permissions but it wont let me change the 644 to 777 HELP what did I miss? many thanks

As You Could Do On Your Site, Can You Plz Just Guide Me While Adding A Guestbook Cause I'm Nearly Goin' Crazy...i Opened A Page In Bv And Add A Guestbook And Name The Page As "guestbook" And Saved And Published...now What?? There's Nothing About It In The Tutorials....
