I am having an amature problem how do i put in a background??

Go to View - page properties - background.
In the page properties you can also tick the box for cetnering your pages, and set the width to 800, and the length to whatever you want it to be.

Right click on the image and select "Properties" There is a tab at the top of the properties window that opens an option for typing in a link address.
