Monitor Size vs. Centering the Page

My page width is 1500. I use "center in browser" but page is not centered on my screen. If I physically move all contents to be centered at 750 on the top ruler, will the page actually be centered, or only on my screen size? Does the size of the monitor come in to play here at all, or am I being silly?

    Thanks.

Re: Monitor Size vs. Centering the Page

The size of your monitor has nothing to do with it. The resolution you are at does. If you make the page 1500 wide, most people will not be able to see all of it without scrolling left to right.

If you want no one to have to scroll, make it 800 wide. If you want to get the majority, but not all, go with 1000 wide.

Build the page starting all the way at the left - pick the width of 800 or 1000 - then click on properties to center the page.
