First, you must realize each “client” must have their own account (you cannot “gang them” as sub-domains) for if/when you part company, they must have access to the account themselves, and be responsible for renewal from the beginning. And, if you set them up as sub’s on your account, you run into the difficulty of how to charge them for your account by share, which then becomes reselling by definition.
This is a simplified way to avoid technical “reselling” of a VodaHost account, and still utilize every benefit for both you and your Client.
Enroll in the VodaHost Affiliate Program, and publish a small banner somewhere on your website. This will entitle you to a commission for every account that originates from your site.
To enroll your client, you will simply click on your own affiliate banner on your website, and purchase (by proxy) an account for them, using THEIR credit card info, THEIR name, THEIR address and other contact info, but > YOU WILL LIST YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS AS “CONTACT/ADMIN”. This purposely sets you up as receiving the Confirmation email, with User and Password info to access/set up the website. In this manner also, the Client is legally accountable both financially for the account (renewals especially) and legal owner of the domain.
PRIOR to doing any of this, however, it is good to have a SIGNED document stipulating that you will on their behalf set them up with an account for which they must be responsible for, and that you will in fact “relinquish” control to them upon separation. They can then access it themselves and change the passwords.
This is the only allowable manner to do this as it creates a “Proxy” representation that is not deceptive, and retains legal status for purchaser of both domain and account, per ICANN rules.
