    Password protect a page

    Hello!!

I am trying to password protect a pdf file that is linked to a page but am having problems. I followed the advise of other posts, creating a folder and moving the pdf to that folder and then password protecting that folder, but even though I did all of that, after I click on the link it goes directly to the pdf and it doesnt ask me any user name of password and it just goes to the pdf that was supposed to be protected. Any ideas what could I have done wrong?

The page with the link to the pdf in question is:

    http://www.cyclonerepertory.com/Macbeth%20Session.html

nd the link to the pdf is at the bottom where it says:

Please Click here to download our Macbeth Session Handout with detailed explanations of the Themes covered in the play.

The here there is linked to this file:

    http://www.cyclonerepertory.com/protected/handout.pdf

ut its not protected! Any ideas would really be appreciated. Thanks!!
