    Of course, we don't really to take out two scales to do it here.
    We just try to figure out how to do it by using the least amount of times to weight them in order to find the lightest piece.

      ok, how about you put them all on the scale and take them off one by one, deducting the weight each time.

                        How do you know which pair is the lightest before you weight them.
                        You can weight them as many times as you want, but here, we want you to do it with the least number of times to find the lightest piece from 8 pieces, using two scales at the same times. Please try again.

                                3 Times
                                You don't know before you weigh them,
                                Step 1: randomly put 2 coins on each side of one scale and and do same for other scale. Discard heavier ones.
                                Step 2: place lighter pairs on one scale, discard heavier pair
                                Step 3: place one coin each side, discard heavier.

                                and of course there must be an easier way. lol
