why tranfer?

It's not like i have a domain to tranfer to vodahost,since the domain i have was registered by vodahost.:)
But i am curious abot tranferring.Let's say i buy a domain from ***,can't i simply buy a vodahost account and upload in that domain?Is the tranfering a "must do"??

No need to transfer...changing your name servers has the exact same effect.
