Ad on domain

Sorry to bother you again...
I bought a domain name from vodahost.domains.
I configured the Dns today
And I'd like to know if I can ad it now or if I have to wait for a short period of time in order to let the propagation completed.

An other question for my personal education...
How to decide to create a sub domain rather than a main domain...for which purpuses? What kind of strategies?
If somebody know one or two relevant things about that...please don't let me died stupid!

1) Propogation takes about 24 hours, but you can add it at any time.
2) Sub domains are used mostly for organizing large sections or departments
of your wesbite. For example our customer support help desk is on the
sub domain support.
