    Searching for my website

    Hi everyone

After some excellent and quick help yesterday, I now need a bit more please.

My website - www.michaeldavisonconsulting.com - is up and running and seems to be working ok. All of the links to my other pages are fine so I know it's all there.

However, when I carry out a search on Google, my site doesn't show as a search result and I'm wondering if I've done something wrong.

When I created my pages, I entered the metatags as prompted, but is there something else I need to do?

I even entered "michael davison consulting" as a search, and that brought no results at all, yet entering my address takes me straight to the site.

I am looking to establish myself in the FSC and PEFC Timber Chain of Custody business, so I need to be visible when people search for 'FSC' and 'PEFC' but at the moment I'm not

    Please help.

    Thanks, Mick

    Re: Searching for my website

Hi, The SE’s can take some time to link with your site. But I am assuming you have also submitted your site info to the SE’s??. VH will do this as a one off for free. They will usually require the info as bellow.

If you would like VH to submit your website to the leading search
engines, please submit a support ticket with the below information.

    1) A 100 character (1 paragraph) description of your website.
    2) 5 keywords or key phrases that is relevant to your website.
    3) The Domain Name would like us to submit.
    4) Your full name.

As soon as we receive the above information we will begin the free
    submission process within 48 hours.

    Please Note...
This is a free one time submission. If you require a more in-depth
monthly recurring submission please visit the below link.

Thanks Chris that was very helpful.

Who do I send the info to? I tried to register at vodahits.com but was asked for $49 and I'm not sure if I want to pay this much just yet.

Thanks Chris, I will do that as soon as I can get Vodasupport to recognise the e mail adress to which they have already sent loads of e mails. Mick

            Re: Searching for my website

Well, another way to get your site in a SE is to use <HEADLINE 1> tag. what some SE's do is sometimes look up the website's headline and display them when Keywords are in the headline. kind of like the same way as a meta tag only its in full view. (like a slogan, or a footer headline for an article.)

It may help your viewing. there are many ways to submit for free to other major SE. just do a search on "free web site submissions". you will start to see some options.

Another way to get viewers is to trade links with as many "link-to-us" sites that have this page on their web-link page....[thats a mouth full]. the more you link, the more you show up in a SE.

the other option is to just pay for it. you will get hits.

            hope this helps.

                Hi,

I am not quite ready to market my site as its still under construction...
                I have read about <HEADLINE 1> tag
and that Google particuarly looks at this when ranking sites...
How do I adjust <HEADLINE 1> tag using Bluevoda website builder please?

                Many thanks
