why cannot i scan a full a4 page

this might be the wrong place to ask this question, but i got some great help with my website here so thought id try

the problem is i scan an a4 document and would like to then print that document in the exact size on a new piece of a4 paper, but it always has shrunk the image so it does not fit the sheet of paper, ive looked in all the settings and cant figure it out, its driving me up the wall, ive tried loading the file into MS publisher as an a4 document but it is shrunk as well,

also when loading in a bmp of the scan into paint it enlarges it to basically full screen which is fine for editing but how do i then save it as an a4 size document ?

You have to set your page up before you print it.. and print to scale or print to fit the page size.
