    Desperate

My PC has crashed big time with the VodaBluewebbuilder on it. I now need to get it onto this laptop.
Please can someone tell me how to do this.

Also some of the fonts have changed on the site I built. Why has this happened.
Thanks for all your previous help.

    Re: Desperate

    Hello wineprovider..

The BV website builder can be downloaded and installed again on your laptop just as you did with the initial installation on your desktop.

The fonts you used may not have been universal (common) fonts, in which case the computer would display them differently as they are not installed into that computer.. If you used fonts that are not commonly used, especially if you downloaded those fonts from some fonts website, your visitors may not be able to see them.. Obviously, the fonts you used and had installed on your desktop are not installed on your laptop and thats why you are unable to see them.

I'm afraid the solution is to go back and change the fonts on your website.

      Re: Desperate

You can dowload Blue Voda by following this link : http://support.vodahost.com/index.ph...wnloaditemid=1

Carlos has stated it well....The current universally viewed fonts (fonts that you can use simply as text within Blue Voda to allow the majority of visitors to see without substitution) are Arial, Verdana, TimesRoman, Comic, BradleyHand (most of the time), and Courrier.
*If ever in doubt, try viewing your website from a computer other than your own. If you are dedicated to a particular font, you may be required to install your "text" as static images, which will then be universally viewable.

I think also you can transfer your files via FTP from server to your laptop once you have downloaded BV. NOT really sure about this but I think you can but I'm sure someone will set me straight soon. Gooo Luck and wish you all th best recovering your stuff.

            Re: Desperate

Since you opened up BV... go to the menu bar at top and click TOOLS - in the drop down menu select FTP MANAGER and you will geta prompt to login. Login and you are in and SHOULD be able to transfer the files to your laptop.

Sorry not better help as I hae never really done it but seems logical that you can .

              WAIT!

You MAY download your BV files and items via Blue FTP to your laptop if after CONNECTING you use the COPY TO and not the "drag-and'drop' method.....it is much safer and uniform this way.

However, you need always "re-publish" your pages back up to the server (do not swap/transfer them up via FTP).

BlueFTP is found in the BV browser Toolbar under TOOLS.

                          Re: Desperate

                          Connect with BlueFTP.
In the left part of the screen there is your computer content, on the right your site content.
If you use BlueFTP it by default has the BlueVoda flder content in the left part, the public_html of your site in the right part. Just select all your files from the right part and drag them (with the mouse) inside the BV folder in the left part. Wait until the transfer is complete.

However, these are the html pages, that are not very useful if you want to edit them in BV. You should better import your pages from your site in BV (File, New Page, From existing HTML, then give the page URL), adjust them a bit (BV will NOT import all the caracteristics, you need to do some work on the imported pages) and save them on your computer.

This is a good opportunity to make any minor or major updates in your pages.
